In retrospect, the December Holidays Memories and Friends were made, something which money cannot buy, Travelling through the vast Northern Cape, from lazing on the shores of the Bulshoek Dam other side Clanwilliam, Pop down to Lamberts Bay, a typical West Coast fishing village with azure colour water, white sand and great seafood, Through to the rugged hills of Springbok and then for the highlight of the trip, Augrabies National Park and all she has to offer, This place if from another time and it chops you down to size, from the very first day in 43 degrees C. People not used to this environment will succumb quickly if caught in the

Yeah, I am not sentimental and is not one for capturing my day to day exploits, that is why we speak with images and not words, But yes, the last journal entry was in Feb 2009 so it warrants an update, Life has been hectic and time devoted to this page has been far too little, so just a thank you to those lost souls why stumble onto this site, hopefully you enjoy it and if I do not respond to you all then please accept my apologies, I do appreciate every single comment, Till next year.....................

February is traditionally the fire season in the Western Cape, This year is no exception with wildfires raging out of control driven by gale force wind. It is a sad time when one see the destruction to plant and animal life, And it makes my blood boil when you hear that some fires have been caused by arsonists, I cannot understand why someone would deliberately set the land on fire with malicious intention, Some really sick people out there, So here is a tribute to our brave firefighters, both on the ground and in the air, busy at containing a plantation fire on the outskirts of  Grabouw, I have the utmost respect for these "Warriors"
